IEEE Student Branch, SBCE is the student chapter of the world’s largest technical professional organization, affiliated with Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor, Alappuzha. We are part of the IEEE Kerala Section.

Any student enrolled in an engineering program at Sree Buddha College of Engineering (SBCE) can join IEEE SB SBCE. We welcome students from all branches — CSE, ECE, EEE, ME, CE, and more. First-year students are especially encouraged to join early to maximize their IEEE experience.
You can register as a student member at ieee.org, or contact our membership coordinator directly. The annual student membership fee is approximately ₹1,800 (subject to updates). Once registered, you’ll get an IEEE Member ID and immediate access to all branch activities and IEEE Xplore.
Not at all! IEEE SB SBCE welcomes students at all skill levels. Our beginner-friendly workshops are designed to help you learn from scratch, while advanced events challenge experienced members. The branch is a place to grow — your enthusiasm matters more than your existing knowledge.
Yes! Many of our events are open to all SBCE students as a way to experience the IEEE community. However, IEEE members enjoy priority registration, reduced fees for certain events, certification of participation, and access to exclusive member-only workshops and resources.
Executive committee positions (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster, etc.) are elected each academic year. Active members who have participated in branch activities can nominate themselves or be nominated by peers. We also have sub-committee roles and event leads available throughout the year for first-time leaders.
Yes! IEEE SB SBCE has student affinity groups and sub-chapters including IEEE WIE (Women in Engineering) and IEEE CS (Computer Society) chapters. These groups organize specialized events and provide focused communities for students with particular interests.
